About these terms
These Terms govern your use of the Alarmco app, website, and related services provided by Alarmco (“we”, “us”). They form an agreement between you and Alarmco when you accept them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
The Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information. Your app store’s purchase terms and applicable software-license terms also apply. Nothing in these Terms removes rights or protections that applicable law does not allow you to waive.
Using Alarmco
Alarmco provides alarms, snooze, wake-up challenges, timers, a stopwatch, world clocks, streaks and stats, a Sleep sound diary, and optional backups and groups. Available features and controls may differ by device, operating system, app version, and store; for example, Sleep, widgets, and Live Activities are available on iPhone only.
An active subscription or eligible trial is required for normal app access. An Alarmco account is optional for local features and required for backups, groups, and syncing your progress. Local features can operate offline while access remains valid; account services, purchases, and backup coordination require connectivity. Periodic online subscription verification may be necessary.
Subscriptions
Plans and billing
Subscriptions are purchased through Apple or Google. Before confirming a purchase, review the store’s price, currency, billing period, taxes where applicable, and any offer conditions. The price shown by your store applies to your purchase. An annual plan is billed annually, even if a monthly equivalent is displayed.
Free trials
A seven-day trial is available when offered for your selected plan and when you meet the store’s eligibility requirements. The purchase confirmation sets out the trial length and the price payable afterward. Reinstalling Alarmco or creating a new Alarmco account does not create a new entitlement to a trial.
Unless cancelled within the applicable deadline, a trial converts to a paid subscription. If notifications are allowed, Alarmco reminds you two days before a trial ends; this reminder is a convenience, not a condition of billing or cancellation. Device settings and delivery delays may affect reminders, so check the expiry date and cancellation deadline in your store account.
Renewal and cancellation
Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel them through the purchasing store. Manage cancellation in Apple subscription settings or Google Play subscription settings. Apple recommends cancelling a free or discounted trial at least 24 hours before it ends. Follow the deadline and instructions applicable to your purchase.
Cancellation normally stops future renewal while access continues for the remaining paid period. The store may apply different rules to trials or revoked purchases. Deleting your Alarmco account, signing out, or uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription. Price changes are subject to applicable store rules and any notice or consent required by law.
Refunds
Alarmco does not give refunds. Payments are handled by Apple or Google, and any refund is up to them under their own policies, or where the law requires one.
Restoration and plan changes
Subscription access is associated with the purchasing store account, separately from your Alarmco login. Restore purchases using the relevant store account on a supported device. Signing into Alarmco does not itself transfer a purchase between Apple and Google.
When you change plans, the store determines the effective date and any billing adjustment. A change may apply immediately or at a later renewal, so your existing plan may remain active until then. Review the store confirmation for the terms of the change.
When access ends
When subscription access expires or is revoked, normal app access is restricted. Based on the subscription information available to the device, Alarmco may prevent scheduling or suspend alarms and timers that would ring after a known non-renewing expiry. A renewal date is not treated as a cancellation when renewal remains enabled.
Changes depend on the app receiving updated subscription information. Do not use subscription cancellation as a way to silence an alarm: cancel unwanted alarms, timers, and backup requests directly. Previously scheduled backup alerts may remain on another device until an update is received. After renewing, check your schedules and resume paused timers as needed.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 and meet any higher age or legal-capacity requirements that apply where you live. If you are a minor, you must have any permission required from a parent or guardian and comply with your app store’s rules.
Your account
Provide accurate information required for signup and complete username selection when prompted. Signing in with an email code, Apple, or Google may create an account before this step is finished. Leaving setup or signing out does not delete that account.
Alarmco accounts have no passwords: access depends on your email account or your Apple or Google account, so keep those secure. Never share a sign-in code, and contact support@alarmco.app if you suspect unauthorized access. Do not impersonate another person or use their account without permission.
Cloud alarms with backups belong to the Alarmco account that created them. Ordinary device-only alarms and preferences may remain when you sign out, switch accounts, or delete an account. Signing out or deleting your account removes your progress and Sleep recordings from that phone, and signing in when both your phone and your account have progress asks you to keep one and deletes the other. Review local settings on shared devices. Alarmco’s backup feature alerts a person you invited; it is not a backup or synchronisation service for your device data.
Acceptable use
Use Alarmco respectfully and lawfully. You must not:
- Harass others, send repeated unwanted backup or group requests, set group alarms to disturb people, impersonate someone, or submit deliberately false reports.
- Share unlawful content or information you do not have permission to use.
- Access another person’s private information, interfere with the service, or bypass payment or security controls.
- Use automated or abusive activity that disrupts other users or places an unreasonable load on the service.
- Harvest other users’ information through unauthorized scraping, or sell or rent access to your Alarmco account. This does not restrict supported app-store sharing or your right to export your own data.
These restrictions do not limit activities that applicable law expressly permits.
Your content
You retain ownership of content you provide, such as usernames, group names, alarm labels, notes, custom alarm sounds, and support messages. You give Alarmco a limited, non-exclusive permission to store, process, and transmit that content as needed to provide the features you request, support and protect the service, and meet legal obligations.
This permission does not transfer ownership of your content or authorize unrelated advertising use. Our handling and retention of personal information remain subject to the Privacy Policy and applicable law.
Reports and blocking
Use the available reporting and blocking controls to manage unwanted interactions. We may review reported content and activity and take proportionate action, including removing content or restricting an account. Contact support if you believe action was taken in error.
Reports are not displayed to the reported user in the app, but disclosure may be required by law. Blocking cannot recall information already seen or reliably remove a notification already delivered. Reports are not monitored continuously.
Alarms, backups, and groups
Alarmco combines local alarms with optional support from people you trust. To get the best experience, check alarm times, volume, permissions, battery settings, and subscription access, and try your setup after changing devices or important settings.
A backup must accept your request and use a suitably configured device. Their alarm may be scheduled in advance. If you confirm you are awake, a cancellation update must reach and be processed by their device to prevent that alarm from ringing. Connectivity alone does not ensure every update is received immediately.
Backup participation is voluntary. A person is only your backup for an alarm once they accept that request. A recipient may decline or withdraw from an assignment, and the alarm owner may remove a backup. Respect those choices. Removing an assignment affects future occurrences and may not cancel an alert already in progress.
Like other apps, Alarmco depends on operating-system behavior and device and network conditions. Alarm delivery, timing, cancellation, and lock-screen updates cannot be guaranteed in every situation. Live Activities, shortcuts, and background features are also subject to system limits. For commitments where a missed alarm would have significant consequences, keep an independent arrangement.
Completing a challenge or pressing “Confirm I’m awake” records your action; it does not independently verify that you are awake. Backups and group members choose whether and how to respond and are not acting on Alarmco’s behalf. Agree with them on what help you expect.
Joining a group shares your wake-up progress with its members, as described in the Privacy Policy. Each member decides whether to join a group alarm; a group alarm cannot be changed once created, and its details are deleted a day after it rings.
Challenges and Sleep
Some challenges ask you to move, go outside, or use your camera. Only do them when it is safe, choose challenges that suit your health and surroundings, and stop if something feels wrong. Camera challenges are not a reliable way to tell what is in an image or whether you are awake.
Sleep records sounds around your phone. If other people share your room, let them know before you use it, and follow the law where you live on recording others. Sleep, stats, and wake-up consistency are descriptive and for personal interest only; they are not medical advice, diagnosis, or a measure of sleep quality.
Account deletion and service restrictions
You may stop using Alarmco at any time. Delete your account through Settings or request help at support@alarmco.app, including if you cannot sign in or did not finish setup. We may verify ownership before acting.
Account deletion removes the live account and associated cloud data, subject to the retention exceptions explained in the Privacy Policy. It does not erase ordinary device-only alarms and preferences or cancel store billing. Deleted accounts cannot be recovered through the app.
We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to address material misuse, protect users or the service, comply with law, or respond to a serious operational problem. Where reasonably possible and lawful, we will explain the action and provide an opportunity to resolve the issue. Any discontinuation or material reduction of paid services remains subject to applicable notice requirements and consumer remedies.
Ending your use or deleting your account does not remove rights or claims that have already arisen. Provisions concerning ownership, lawful data retention, liability, and disputes continue to apply where relevant and permitted by law; this does not authorize additional data retention.
App license and ownership
Alarmco and its licensors retain ownership of the app’s software, branding, design, and other materials. Subject to these Terms, you may use the app on supported devices for its intended purpose. You may not reproduce, distribute, or commercially exploit our materials without permission, except where a license or applicable law allows it.
Third-party and open-source components remain subject to their respective licenses. For Apple-distributed copies, Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement applies where applicable. Apple and Google are not parties to these Terms and do not operate Alarmco.
Responsibility and liability
We aim to provide a reliable, useful service. To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without additional warranties that it will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for every purpose. This does not affect statutory requirements concerning quality, conformity, or reasonable care and skill.
To the extent permitted by law, Alarmco is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, loss of business or profits, or losses caused solely by circumstances beyond its reasonable control. This includes third-party or device failures only to the extent Alarmco is not legally responsible for them. These provisions are not a blanket exclusion of responsibility for a missed alarm or other service failure.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for fraud, deliberate misconduct, or death or personal injury caused by negligence where protected by law. Your mandatory consumer and privacy rights remain unaffected.
Changes to the service and terms
We may update Alarmco and these Terms to improve the service or address technical, security, or legal changes. We will identify revisions by date and give advance notice of material changes where required. Changes will not remove rights that have already arisen. Where the law requires agreement or a right to end the service, we will respect those requirements.
If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law. A delay in enforcing a provision does not waive the right to enforce it later.
Disputes and applicable law
If you have a concern, contact support@alarmco.app so we can try to resolve it. Contacting us does not prevent you from exercising legal rights or seeking help from a competent authority.
Applicable law determines the rights and obligations arising from the service and the courts that may hear a dispute. These Terms do not require you to give up mandatory protections in your country of residence or bring a claim in a court that the law would not otherwise require you to use.
